SG e-sports releases roster

The South American organization will be parting ways with its lineup as it looks for a new squad for the 2018-2019 season.

After just barely missing the mark for a spot at TI8 with a 2nd place finish in the TI8 South America Qualifier, SG e-sports stood as one of the strongest and most accomplished teams in the region. However, the offseason brough a change to the team’s roster, as support player and team captain Stanley “Stan King” Yang announced that he was taking a break from professional Dota 2 this season. Following that announcement, many in the Dota 2 world were left wondering how the team would look to replace Stan King for the new Pro Circuit season. Today, the team’s solution has been revealed, and it is a bit more drastic than many might have been anticipating. Rather than look for a single player to replace Stan King, SG e-sports has announced that it will be releasing the entirety of its Dota 2 lineup. The team’s statement revealed that the organization will be looking for a new team to represent it on the Pro Circuit, but for now the Brazilian organization remains without a roster.

The team’s former members now find themselves as free agents within the South American scene. While there are more than a few organization that will likely have roster vacancies in the coming days, none of those squads currently appear to be on the same level as teams like SG e-sports, Infamous, and paiN Gaming. However, with SG e-sports looking for a new roster and its former players potentially joining other squads, there is a possibility for a new team to rise up and claim a place as a leader in the region.

The former roster of SG e-sports:

Guilherme Silva “Costabile” Costábile (Carry)
Adriano de Paula “4dr” Machado (Mid)
Rodrigo Lelis “Liposa” Santos (Offlane)
Francis “FrancisLee” Lee (Support)
Gustavo “YonKyon” Santana (Manager)
